Why I Remember Today

Hosted Laura’s early birthday party. Played Slam Can, Mölkky, and a homebrew lyric chain game.

Went down to Richmond Pride with Ryan, Lexie, and Ava. Got back in time to catch the tail end of Robert’a 9-3/4 celebration.

Bonus Isla week! Hard to find time to write. Really enjoyed dropping Isla off at school and picking her up the same day. Made pho and watched half of Thor with Marissa on Monday, went clothes shopping Tuesday, and had Tim, James, and Daphne over for dinner on Wednesday.

Picked up Isla at the Smith‘s and drove up to Baltimore. Rode in the boat with Nic while Isla rode the jet ski with Jake to a creek side restaurant for lunch. Isla locked the jet ski, and I got a lesson from Jake and drove it part it the way home. TONS of boats…

Had My Casa with Shannon and Jerry for lunch. Had our first DKC workshop which got about 8 people, but there were issues with single sign-on so people couldn’t sign up. Went to the Brompton Lawn Party and chatted with lots of people, including Justin the swim coach, Tom and Lilly.

Got the students signed up for DoOO in class. Met with the EAB leadership group for the first time. Talked about where we were going to go for game night next, and decided on Ben running Spelljammer.

Another day that the DKC was buzzing with energy. Had a great jam session with Anastasia figuring out the name for her workshop. Isla and I had Benny’s for the first time in forever and then walked around downtown. Bought some Dark Sun books at Riverby, then walked along the river and got ice cream.…

Worked with lots of students today. Talked about online identity in class, then learned about fixing the printer in the HCC with Gabby. Talked with Joey about his choice to step down from managing the student staff, and heard about his internships with politicians in DC. Met with Anastasia and Audra about their workshops and…

Started lifting again today. Just one set of bench press and one of pull ups but hoping to establish the pattern and keep it going. Trained Vivian on the Info Desk. She was great. Shannon, Jerry, and I took apart the old tutoring center office and put together a green screen space. Excited to roll…

Had a run and then made bean patties with the leftovers from Friday. Finished “Words of Radiance” and “Edgedancer.”
