Why I Remember Today

Cut out early to take Isla and the Vasquez girls shopping. We went downtown and then to Plato’s closet. Isla helped me buy some new shoes. Had a great conversation about media literacy, taxes, and politics with Isla. Got her playing Wolf Among Us and she loved it. But not as much as she loves…

Taught about podcasting pre-production. Blank stares most of the class. Had the first Terror Tuesday of the season, watched “The Thing.” Great monster effects, weird Kurt Russell hat.

Played Gloomhaven with Scott and Sara. Won the first mission handily and lost the second by one round. Feels bad.

Finished Oathbringer and tidied the house with Isla. Discovered Isla’s screentime settings were off and she had had some 6-7 hour YouTube days. Fixed that and talked about it.

Sat at the study abroad fair and talked to a few students. Isla was a good wing person. Stop by the international market for hazelnut chocolates, then shopped the 50% off sale at Gateway. Went to Laura and Alec’s for Laura’s birthday. Chatted with Colin about travel.

Hosted Hurricane Hocus Pocus Happy Hour at our house. Made lots of popcorn that Bert scattered about.

Played my new D&D character, Lopen, for the first time in a one shot battle Ben DMed. Artificers are fun!

Met with the student hiring committee to kick off the DKC hiring process. Went to the global cafe at the UC with Isla, then went to Molly’s to finish up D&D characters.

Taught about vectors vs. rasters then led a faculty workshop on podcasting. Went for potentially the last evening paddle of the season. Played more Gloomhaven with the gang.

Finally out the carpet back down in the car. Started playing Gloomhaven online with Jake, Scott, and Sara.
