DKC training day! I cranked out a voiceover for the DKC ad, then we did training with the consultants. Picked up Isla and we went to the Hauser’s for happy hour. I was very tired so we didn’t stay too late.

Thursday 8/18/22
Had our first student, Patrick, wander into the DKC and ask to use the 3D printer. Exciting! Worked with Kayla and Audra to get prepped for the semester. Played Chronicles of Crime with the gang for the first time and it went over well. Played the Harry Shark mission.

Wednesday 8/17/22
Met Maysoon to talk about YouTube live streams. Then spent 3 hours at the Eagle Resource Fair and gave away nearly all our DKC keychains again. Picked up Isla and she did a clothes inventory. Then Molly and Daphne came over and we made D&D characters.

Tuesday 8/16/22
Drove up to Dulles for my Global Entry interview. Stopped at Big Buns on the way back for a tasty burger.

Monday 8/15/22
Met the third candidate for the Speaking and Writing Center opening. Prepped for students’ return. Watched All the President’s Men and started sorting magazines. Tried the chipotle chicken cheesesteak from Jersey Mikes. Not bad but needed pepper.

Sunday 8/14/2022
Run in the morning, then spent the whole day chorin’. Working on the car, mowing the lawn, putting up the back splash, and other chores. Ordered El Asador for dinner. Should do this more often.

Saturday 8/13/22
Day on the river! Molly, James, and Daphne joined and we had a very pleasant float. Did SUP yoga and took our time. Lost my water bottle in the river though 🙁

Had some fantastic meetings with RAs to spread the word about the DKC. Gave out all of our fidget keychains. Met with the peer mentors and had another great conversation with lots of questions. Molly’s birthday! Dropped Isla at school and then prepped the Info Desk for training. Isla did her 30 minute Zoom screening and was diagnosed with ADD and anxiety. Crazy to me that in 30 minutes they would come to this conclusion and be ready to prescribe Adderol and Zoloft. Went over of Molly’s birthday and…

Wednesday 8/10/22
Worked with the students to prep for HCC training tomorrow. Picked up Isla for the first time from 7th grade and did some shopping for Molly’s birthday. Came home and watched a thunderstorm from the porch, then watched Buffy for the first time in forever.
