Finished “Messenger” (third book in Giver series) this morning. Took the gang up to Assateague because Daphne wanted to see the lighthouse. Stopped at Wallops Visitor Center and learned about the DART mission to change an asteroid’s trajectory.

Lunch at Pico’s taco shack, then over to Assateague to touch the lighthouse. It was closed, and we were swarmed with mosquitos. Went to Mr. Whippy’s on the way back for soft serve and coffee.

Went for last night of the carnival, which was packed. Escandalo Norteno was playing, bringing a huge Latino crowd. Black Spider broke down early and lines were so long that the kids only got three rides in. Took a family photo on the ferris wheel instead of tilt-a-whirl. Ran into Cora, Joe, Kristin, and a giant Liam.

Started Sherlock Holmes before bed.
