Why I Remember Today

Another solo day. Being alone in the office encourages me to be out with the students more, and I really enjoy that. Happy hour at the Hausers. We watched Bluey. “The optics on this are not good.”

Shannon and Jerry away so of course things start to fall apart. Spent a good chunk of the day troubleshooting the printer. Had Debra and Jerry over for dinner after.

Found out bad news about a friend’s mom today. Isla and I am to My Casa and walked to Sweet Frog. Played more Wolf Among Us at home.

Taught about telling stories with data. Always rewarding when a student says “this is cool, where can I find out more?”

Picked up Isla and went to Molly’s to prep for Halloween. Made salad dressing and went to the Hornung’s. Walked around with Daphne who was freaked out by a spooky floating pumpkin lid. Chatted with Jonathan about the state of the English department. Met Mary Lou on the way home.

Ran and then made brunch for Marissa and Jerry. Took Isla and Daria to see Spirited Away. Isla bought a rubber chicken and we had Qdoba.

Open house where no one talked to us, brunch at the UC, then Treats on the Streets at Hurkamp. Played some Valheim with Josh and then D&D with the family. Tried to do a cliffhanger “To Be Continued” but Daphne was at the grandparents so Molly and James wanted to keep going.

Dumpling fest! Marissa made piles of dumplings and we watched a Very Potter Musical.

Bought Rocky Horror tickets and learned about Justin’s Frostburg AirBnb on the run.

Photoshoot for AJ in the morning. Led the infographic workshop. Picked up Isla and was surprised about how little time we have after D&D.
